As of now the majority of people gambling on the internet online, especially in online poker rooms, are English speakers coming from the United States of England. But recently online casino and betting sites are turning their eyes towards the large part of the world that doesn’t speak English. This week three more players qualified to play at the Everest Poker European Championship, which will be held in September. The three players will represent Sweden in the international poker tournament.
On May 6th Tobias Eriksson won the Sweden qualifier held in Gothenburg, Sweden. Tobias, a native of Stockholm, secured a seat to represent Sweden at the Everest Poker European Championship. Charles Elisson and Rickard Sollander were the other two players to win seats in Gothenburg for the tournament, Elisson placed second, and Sollander third.
Then on May 13th at the Wirsbo Pokersallskaps clubhouse in Virsbo, two more Swedish players qualified for seats in the Everest Poker European Championship. Daniel Olsson and Peter Lindstom will also be representing Sweden, after their Virsbo wins.
All throughout the month of May, players from all over Sweden will compete for free to win seats in the Everest Poker European Championship finale. The finale will be held at the Casino de Barcelona on 9 September 2006. The Swedish representatives, along with poker players from all over Europe, will compete to win a free roll offering a 50,000 Euro prize pool. More Swedish players will qualify later this month in Nykoping and Kristianstad.
“We are bringing two really good poker players to Barcelona from the Virsboro event,†said Everest Poker Event Manager, Jack Hansen. “There is a strong possibility that one of these players will walk away with first prize in September.â€
The Everest Poker European Championship is open to anyone with a European citizenship. During the event will be free poker tournaments, to be held in 7 countries around Europe. The tour runs from March to June of 2006, and will stop in Sweden, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland and Denmark. Any player from Europe can qualify for the final games for free by gambling on the internet online satellite games from May to August 2006.
A final 100 players will be chosen to represent their country in a European championship finale, taking place at the Casino de Barcelona in Spain in September.
